Who We Are
To eliminate fear of judgement as a barrier to personal growth and wellness,
and help people, schools and corporations move from merely surviving to truly thriving.
Open Space Counseling, Consulting & Wellness was founded to create a safe, inclusive, and progressive space where people can move from merely surviving their lives to truly thriving. Our vision is to create a warm space that is inviting anyone who feels “other” or believes that their “stuff” will be judged—for both our clients and our employees. This includes concerns related to addiction, trauma, and LGBTQIA+, among many other things. We strive to create a laid-back, family-like atmosphere among our staff, and we believe that happy employees play a large role in ensuring that we have happy clients. Open Space CCW is a LGBTQIA+ and relationship minority affirming therapy group.
The name “Open Space” wasn’t chosen randomly. It was chosen purposefully, to demonstrate the open-mindedness we have of people from all types of backgrounds, with all types of issues, with all types of elephants in the room.
This can be your space, if you’re ready to start your journey.
We want people to walk in and feel—in their gut—truly welcomed with open arms and open minds. We want people to finally LET GO of the things that have been weighing them down—unabashedly and without hesitation. We are holding this space for you.
That’s the kind of thing we do here.
And we would be lucky to have you.
What We Do
Have you ever said any of these things to yourself?
"No one will get it."
“They will judge me.”
“I’m always ‘the other’. And it feels shitty.”
“They will SAY they’re open-minded, but they have to say that. There’s no way they won’t judge me for THIS.”
“I feel different than everyone else everywhere I go.”
“I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to really open up.”
“Will they even know what the hell I’m talking about?”
“They will think it’s my fault.”
“They will think I’m nuts.”
“I have never had a space where I can truly be myself. I’ve always hidden at least one part of me.”
“I HATE having to dance around certain parts of my life when I’m talking to someone.”
...Then we may be the place you have been looking for.
We love what we do.
Our practice is specifically designed to meet the needs of our community and eliminate fear of judgement as a barrier to personal growth and wellness. From our workplace culture to our work with our clients, we promote diversity, inclusivity, and progressive approaches.
We believe in people. We believe in true acceptance--not just tolerance. We believe that change can happen--at any point in our lives. We believe that it's never too late to shed the "stuff" you've been carrying around.
We believe that the simple act of being heard--truly heard--can set the stage for a renewed life and the courage to say:
"This is not how my story is going to end."
