OUR PRACTICE

At Open Space Counseling, Consulting & Wellness (Open Space CCW), our mission is to eliminate fear of judgment as a barrier to personal growth and wellness. Open Space CCW was founded in 2018 with a vision of creating a safe, inclusive, and progressive space where people can move from merely surviving their lives to truly thriving--for both our employees and our clients. We have created a safe space that is a “one-stop shop” for anyone who feels “other” or believes that their “stuff” will be judged. We strive to create a laid-back, family-like atmosphere among our staff, where autonomy and self-care are strongly encouraged (and not just talked about). Open Space CCW is a LGBTQIA+ affirming, relationship minority affirming, and racial justice-oriented therapy group. Join our growing team!

FEEDBACK FROM CURRENT EMPLOYEES (SO YOU KNOW WE’RE NOT BS’ING YOU)

  • “I’ve worked in the mental health field for over thirty years in many different positions, different agencies and private practice. Open Space is by far the best place I’ve ever worked! The practice owner truly carries out the mission of the practice in every aspect. The staff are more than a team--we are a family. Staff are valued, and clients are well matched to their clinicians. The practice is well run, and therapists can perform the job we were hired to do--therapy with clients.”

  • "Working at Open Space has shown me what teamwork and collaboration mean. The environment of our team is one of acceptance, inclusivity, and openness. I feel I can bring my most authentic self to the floor and be accepted, embraced and loved.”

  • "The leadership team at Open Space is SO open minded, flexible, and willing to listen to your needs as an employee. They are constantly working to be innovative and creative as a practice - there is no ‘we've always done it that way’ here. If you have ideas they will listen to you seriously and implement changes where they can! The team I get to work with makes me love my job and it feels more like an extended family than a group practice... This practice has grown so much since I started here, and I LOVE that the leadership team is being intentional with who becomes part of the group, because they want to ensure we are hiring people who share our mission, vision, and passion for this community. In every team meeting we have we are constantly reminded to practice self-care, and have opportunities to get involved in our own areas of interest across the practice.”

  •  “One of the things I love about working here is the feeling/experience of collaboration. There's room for and an openness to everyone's ideas; creative thinking is encouraged. It feels like my ideas, feedback, thoughts, and curiosities have a place to land without judgment… Also, there is room for people to grow into themselves. The Executive Director doesn't demand that people fit into a mold and she doesn’t dictate the direction or process each individual takes. She chooses people based on who they are and lets them find the places within the practice where they can thrive… I love and appreciate that I feel valued, and that we reinforce each other positively. It is such a supportive environment. I'm not kidding when I say that I want this to be my last job. I'm not leaving until I retire. Seriously.”

  • "I absolutely LOVE the supportive, caring, HILARIOUS team we have here -- the workplace culture is AMAZING."

  • "Literally can't pick one favorite thing about working at Open Space... I love the flexibility, I love that in a way I'm sort of my own boss, I love the simplicity of documentation and our EHR, I love the energy of everyone who works here. Literally this is the best decision I've made for my career and one of the best decisions I've made for my life so far."

  • "This is the best place I've ever worked honestly. It is healing me from work trauma. It is restoring my hope in humanity and bosses."

  • " I am honored to be a part of this team. I have been nothing but amazed at how well Open Space leadership strives to support clinicians and other staff and maintain a positive team environment. I can't fathom leaving Open Space. I have exactly zero issues."

ABOUT THE POSITION + THE BEST FIT:

  • We are hiring a therapist who will work in the office at our Wexford or East End locations (or both!). We are open to discussing hybrid in-office/telehealth schedules, but ask that you are able to commit to at least 1 day in-office!

  • Therapist will be hired as a W2 employee, not a 1099 contractor. Therapist will NOT be responsible for any business management tasks, billing, tracking reimbursements, verifying insurance benefits, charging clients, maintaining and managing an office, etc.

  • If you are someone who is passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ community, and open/affirming of various relationship types (i.e. consensual non-monogamy, open relationships), you are our people. We value EVERYONE--and that goes for both employees and clients.

  • We aren't big on stress. So, while we will expect you to work efficiently and provide AMAZING services to our clients, we focus on open communication and true work/life balance.

  • The schedule can be super flexible. We do ask for either one evening a week (5pm, 6pm, and 7pm) OR 3 hours on a weekend. Otherwise, let's figure out a schedule and a routine that works for you and your "stuff". 3 long days a week work best for you? No problem. Rather start seeing clients at 8am most days? Cool, we can do that too. We understand that life situations shift, and that we are able to be better humans both professionally and personally when we are able to lean into those shifts.

  • You don't need to be skilled at trivia, Cards Against Humanity, mini-cornhole, or finding the best memes. But we do that shit. Every other month we get together as a team to support our relationships outside of the therapy room.
