Who Do I Help?

You’re feeling stuck, disconnected from yourself, and disenchanted with life as you know it. You’re struggling under the pressure of the “shoulds” and shame that society throws at you. You feel like things should have been so much better than this, but you can’t put your finger on why – or perhaps you can, but you need a supportive and safe person to explore and process that with.

Maybe you’re in a codependent or unsafe relationship, exploring your gender, sexuality, or relationship structure (i.e. poly or ENM), or grappling with a chronic illness or disability. You might be looking to heal from childhood trauma, religious trauma, abuse, or perfectionism but don’t know where to start. Or maybe you want to do therapy in a way that feels less clinical and more personal with someone who sees you as the expert of your own experience rather than someone who “knows best.”

Whatever your journey, I am here to be a fellow traveller. I am enthusiastic and passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent individuals as well as anyone who feels like they need support to get in the driver’s seat of their own life.

What Can you Expect?

I help clients take back the pen to figuratively (and sometimes literally!) re-write

their stories. This often involves exploring intersectional identities, clarifying values, and identifying and amplifying your strengths in order to create a life story that is authentic and intentional.

I focus on wellness over illness, and I believe that it's important to consider how contextual (socioeconomic, political, cultural) factors play a role in your experience. I see the value of diagnosis, and at the same time, I hesitate to pathologize the human experience.

I aim to take the mystery out of the counseling process and make it accessible for all. I will be transparent with you every step of the way, collaborate with you to set goals, and explain things to you in a way that actually makes sense.

I bring my whole self and my lived experience as a late-identified queer, nonbinary, Autistic person to the therapeutic relationship. As a highly sensitive person, I am no stranger to strong emotions – I want you to also feel comfortable bringing every part of yourself into the space. I will laugh with you, cry with you, scream curse words with you – no judgment and no bullshit, ever.

Healing is a messy, painful, beautiful process--and I honor the strength it takes to start. Bring your delicious beverage of choice, curl up where you feel cozy, and we'll tackle it together.
