Who I Help

As a person-centered therapist, I believe there is potential to help anyone interested in working with me regardless of their reasons for coming to therapy. That being said, I enjoy working with folks who struggle with anxiety, gender and sexual identities, neurodivergence, self-concept or self-worth, complex and religious trauma, relationship issues, and grief.

I am an LGBTQIA+ and relationship-affirming therapist and I'm very passionate about working with people in marginalized groups. I believe that everyone needs a therapist who can listen with compassion and understanding.

If you feel othered in the world, let’s build a space together where you feel safe to be your most authentic YOU.

What Can you Expect?

In our sessions I will try my best to embody the person-centered ideal of being a “fellow traveler” rather than an expert or teacher. There are some skills or nuggets of wisdom I might share along the journey, but I am not an expert in your life because I haven’t lived your experience. I won't claim to have the 'right answer,' but I am very invested in helping you find whatever answer feels right for you. While we have so many commonalities as human beings sharing space and time together, I’ll never assume our stories are the same.

I love learning about others' perspectives and enjoy having deep, existential conversations. Therapy is one of the few places where emotional and sometimes painful conversations are expected and embraced. I enjoy connecting with people on this level, and creating a safe space for people to share their highs, lows, and everything in between.

As a neurodivergent, white, cis-ish, pansexual female and fellow human, I bring my own lived experience and perspective to my therapeutic approach. I am passionate about social justice and identify as a feminist and atheist. I enjoy conversations exploring the impact of systemic oppression, capitalism, and the patriarchy in our daily lives. I believe we can find a lot of freedom through examining and questioning systems.

Together we will seek to find insight into who you are because I believe that this can lead to powerful change. And while I enjoy deep, meaningful, and sometimes existential conversations, I also think that humor and levity are important in creating a positive therapeutic experience. You will always have a choice about what and how much you share.

You can expect me to bring a lot of humor, validation, and compassion into our sessions. I’m no stranger to tangents, fidgeting, and getting lost in a thought, and I don’t shy away from sharing a personal experience or two either if it’s relevant and helpful.
