Who I Help

I'm a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist who loves working with preteens/tweens, adolescents, and adults. I love working with clients experiencing life transitions, ADHD, gender identity and sexuality, anxiety, chronic illness/pain, interpersonal violence (IPV), depression, grief and loss, and childhood sexual trauma and abuse. I use an attachment-based, body positive (HAES), strength-based and feminist approach. Together, we will determine what approaches may have the biggest impact on your life and get you closer to living authentically and meeting your goals.

Gender Identity

I will show up in session eager to listen. Gender Identity is such a broad and nuanced facet of who we are, and you will set the tone for session by letting me know what is important to you that week. Using an intersectional lens, we will explore what gender identity means for you, how you plan to or already share your gender identity with folks in your life, workplaces, and third spaces. I bring years of experience providing safe, exploratory space for clients to unfold, strengthen, and embrace their gender identity.

Anxiety

Ever have a moment that induces the sweats and tummy problems, paired with that inner voice that tells you to pull the fire alarm for a teeny bit of smoke? Same. Our minds play so many tricks on us, on a daily basis. With a collaborative approach, we will explore the brain and how it's tricks present as anxiety, and build a personalized skill set for you to challenge those stress inducing moments and combat anxiety. You bring your worry thoughts, I'll bring the tools to counteract them. Best part is, you get to take them with you outside of our time together! There are so many approaches to anxiety, and with psychoeducation, CBT, and even a lil flavor of DBT, we can build a skill set for you to tap into as needed.

Grief & Loss

Whether it's a loved one, a work opportunity, or getting runner up (or first alternate, as Alyssa Edwards would say), we all experience grief and loss at many points in life. I lost a parent to cancer at a young age (both of us were young). Chronic illness and loss are topics all too familiar for me. Thankfully, as someone who's been nurtured and supported through this loss, I'm ready and willing to show up for you. Grief is relative, and looks so different for each of us. It can make us feel as if we are alone in a room full of people. Here to remind you, you are not alone. As your therapist, I vow to show up for you in our time together with fully stocked boxes of kleenex, comfortable space, and access to angsty music. When it feels right, we can use narrative therapy to honor the loss and hold space for it.

What Can You Expect?

I am a strengths-based therapist who applies an Intersectionality framework, which means that I believe each of us has many strengths and none of us are one dimensional. Often times, it's easy to forget the strengths we offer in various facets of our lives, and I will remind you of your own during our work together.

I wholeheartedly believe that my clients are the experts on their lived experiences, I just happen to have some skills to share with them and a deep capacity to listen. I will never "tell you what to do". Instead, I will hype you up, challenge you when needed, and remind you of your capabilities to navigate tough things. I am highly comfortable with the use of explicit language in session--sometimes there's only one word to really express a feeling.

Think of me as your personal hype person, who occasionally challenges you to explore new approaches. Whether you are exploring facets of your identity, navigating a difficult time in life, or want to learn tools that you can take outside of sessions, I will actively listen to what is important to you and support you in our time together. I'm so excited to learn what you are ready to share.
