Who I Help

I am especially passionate about working with those that struggle with finding their identity (gender, sexuality, or any other identity), are feeling lost, and may feel that they are not enough. I specialize in working with those exploring gender identity and sexuality, trauma and PTSD, religious trauma, anxiety, dual diagnosis, depression, grief & loss, codependency and attachment, perfectionism, and self-esteem/self-worth.

My passion is helping other people to truly find themselves by unraveling layers of trauma, societal expectations, and negativity imposed by others. It has been the most meaningful thing in my life to watch people change and blossom into themselves--FINALLY accepting and valuing all parts of their identity.

It reminds me that we are never truly stuck; we always have the opportunity to recreate ourselves and find joy.

I've been through some very dark places in my life--trauma, depression, anxiety, grief. I feel that this gives me a a different perspective, having experienced extreme highs and lows and seeing the resilience of humans firsthand. I can never completely understand what another person has been through, but I can hold some of the pain for them and truly empathize with the darkness.

What Can You Expect?

I want to connect with you on a deep level--walking beside you as you experience both the devastation and immense beauty of being human.

I want to help you figure out how to be truly, wholly yourself and live a life that encompasses your values and beliefs.

I aim to help you see your inherent worth and know that somebody is SO happy you are here. I focus on your strengths, not your perceived "shortcomings", and I want to empower you to find these strengths within yourself, too.

Self-Identity & Self-Worth (Including Gender Identity & Sexuality)

I believe identity is fluid concept that corresponds to a person's values, which may shift over time. As a therapist, I want to help you cherish ALL parts of yourself and learn how to integrate all of those parts into your self-concept.

We will explore where you feel the various aspects of your identity have come from, identify the functions of all of these parts, and collaboratively evaluate how you can become more accepting of your identities so that you can live an authentic life that is in tune with that identity.

It is important to me to help you see the inherent strengths they have and help utilize those to their full capacity. I believe in empowering clients to be fully themselves.

Religious Trauma

Collaboratively, we will explore and evaluate the core values that may have been imposed on you throughout your life. Some of our work will likely include deconstructing belief systems, and connecting religious beliefs to any feelings of guilt, shame, etc. that you may be experiencing. Together, we will re-integrate any beliefs that may still resonate, and explore finding meaning and self-worth outside of the bounds of religion.

Anxiety

The first step in learning how to manage our anxiety is identifying core beliefs associated with anxious thought patterns, and then together, we can dive into them further. Together, we can process past experiences that have created these patterns. We will begin challenging them slowly with CBT techniques, construct alternate thoughts, and utilize distress tolerance and emotional regulation skills in the moment to address any anxiety symptoms that may be coming to the surface.
