Who I Help

The human mind is a wonderful, terrifying, amazing, intense thing. So this is scary, right? The idea of actually INVITING someone into your brain instead of continuing to avoid everything like you have been. But that hasn't been working. And while it's safe, it's not fulfilling or true LIVING--it's pure survival. And it's probably why you're here. Sometimes, in order to heal, we need to lean into discomfort and work with our shame and resentment. But arriving authentically means we can REALLY dig into the stuff that's been holding you back. And I'm here to walk with you, through it, rather than around it.

I'm a LGBTQIA+ and relationship minority affirming therapist. My greatest passion is helping people improve their relationships with themselves and the people they care about the most. My specialized, Master's-level training in sex therapy also gives me the tools to help you explore the areas of your life that you REALLY hide. Nothing is off limits here!

I specialize in anxiety, sex therapy, various relationship types (i.e. consensual non-monogamy, open relationships), and LGBTQIA+ related concerns. I am also experienced in working with folks struggling with addiction (substance use and sex addiction), depression, divorce, infidelity, marriage and relationship issues and self-esteem. I also identify as fat, and it's important to me that I function from a body positive framework.

What Can you Expect?

I started my academic journey way back in my undergraduate degree as a hard science major, and while I still love biology and chemistry, I realized that it was so much more interesting (and, frankly, more fun) to work with people on a human level and not a purely chemical one. I love working with clients to truly meet them where they are in life and provide a safe place to talk about whatever they need to--no matter how taboo or unusual that may be. I love being a therapist because I am privileged to be there to help people through their toughest lows and then see them grow to their greatest heights.

I often like to say that I am the "expert" in the room when it comes to psychology, but the client is the true expert in the room when it comes to their own lives and the expert in the best way to help me help them. And, if clients do have a curiosity about how the human brain works, then I'm always happy to use my science background for a little psychoeducation!

I want you to arrive authentically. I want you to talk about the taboo thing (or all 75 of them). I want you to curse if you want to. I want you to Just. Be. You. And we can do the work--together--that just seems too overwhelming to tackle by yourself.

Reach out and see if we may be a good fit!
