Who I Help

You're tired of putting yourself out there and not finding your "person". You've tried multiple therapists but just can't seem to connect. And without that connection, opening up and really digging in is hard. So you remain stagnant. You want to feel safe and supported, but also want someone to finally be blunt with you about what may be holding you back--and what may actually HELP. You're tired of merely surviving--you want to FINALLY feel like you are living authentically and truly thriving. You want someone to challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone, but also make this shit a little less scary.

I am a LGBTQIA+ and relationship minority affirming therapist who brings her whole self into the therapy room. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ related concerns, gender identity, sexuality and sexual identity, various relationship types (i.e. CNM, poly, open relationships) and trauma and PTSD.

I approach trauma in an explorative and non-threatening manner. I focus on normalizing feelings to decrease the sense of isolation that trauma can create, and I attempt to frame the conversations surrounding traumatic experiences in a manner that conveys trust and safety. I won't force you to step out of your comfort zone, but I will strongly encourage you at times as we can't grow in comfort. I don't view trauma as this big scary thing that has damaged a person. I view it as, "We have all experienced some type of trauma, let's figure out how it has impacted the foundation of you as a person and begin to rebuild that foundation."

What Can you Expect?

I use humor and laughter, openness and authenticity, and most importantly, foul language, to create a safe, explorative environment where we can really dig into what has been holding you back--together. I can be direct and to the point, and sometimes a bit crass and unconventional. But I will also be your strongest advocate and biggest cheerleader.

The thing about life that I love the most is the beautiful balance between the good and the bad, the light and the dark. I believe that we all have felt lost in our journey in life in some way or another.  What I love most about what I do is being able to walk alongside someone who is finding their own way, and being able to witness just how resilient our spirits can be. The resilience that I witness on a daily basis is what keeps me going. It is a constant reminder of how precious life is, and how important healing is.

Asking for a little help isn't a sign of failure--it's a sign of courage. And a sign of a badass who refuses to get in their own way.
