Who I Help

In a world that is filled with judgement and stigma, a safe place where you can be yourself without apologizing is hugely important. I am a LGBTQIA+ and relationship minority affirming therapist, and I am particularly interested in working with folks struggling with LGBTQIA+ related issues.

I also specialize in working with concerns surrounding self-esteem, trauma and PTSD, anxiety and panic, and depression--and all of the things that grow spider legs and derive from that. It is an honor to sit in sacred space and engage in dialogue that facilitates growth and change. I believe you, the client, are the expert of your own experience and I genuinely look forward to learning about your worldview.

We all deserve to be seen and heard for who we are and not what others want us to be. We all deserve a place where we can let our guards down and just simply be--not just parts of us, but our whole selves. It is of utmost importance to me that I provide a safe, supportive, respectful space--wherever you are.

What Can You Expect?

I spent two and a half years traveling through the Middle East and Southeast Asia.  I spent the first year volunteering with several NGO’s working with refugees in the West Bank, Jordan, and Greece.  Then I spent six months in India studying Yogic Philosophy and a year in Sri Lanka at a Forest Monastery studying meditation and Buddhist Philosophy. My travels expanded my view on life. It further taught me that much of our knowledge is socially constructed and not universal truth, and there are multiple ways to view things. I enjoy exploring different lenses in which we can view the world so clients can find what best serves them.

As an artist, I believe that all of life is art.  Our choices in clothing, the foods we cook, the projects we engage in, etc are all a form of our creative expression.  We, as humans, are creations and when we are open to exploring our creativity in all its various forms we begin to move with purpose in the world.  When we look at the natural world we can see that all matter expands and contracts.  As human beings we also expand and contract.  Times of contraction can be viewed as opportunities to pull back from over extending our energies and explore ways to move in more alignment with ourselves.   I believe that the journey in therapy is learning how to move more authentically into alignment within our own lives so we can thrive.

I'm trained in mindfulness and enjoy sharing techniques to live in embodied presence and more fully in our lives--instead of allowing the mind to ride on autopilot. If you're ready to move from living out of habit to living with more intention and purpose, I'd love to join you on your journey. That first call can be difficult, but the outcome so rewarding!

I believe Ram Dass says it best:

“We are all just walking each other home.”

“The quieter you become, the more you can hear.”
