Jules' Background
Jules completed her academic and clinical training at Carlow University and comes to Open Space CCW with unique training and experience. She earned her Master of Education degree in Special & Elementary Education, and then continued on to earn her Master of Science degree in Professional Counseling.
Jules is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Level-1 Certified Trauma Practitioner-Clinical (CTP-C).
She is trained in EMDR, which has proven to be a highly effective treatment for trauma and PTSD. Her overall trauma-informed approach, however, means that she can work with you to identify what treatment may work best for you--and at a pace you are comfortable with. Jules is also unique in that she brings a level of creativity to the table through various treatment modalities, including expressive therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family therapy, and play therapy--which allows her to help you create a truly personalized experience.
Jules' Approach
Jules is a LGBTQIA+ and relationship minority affirming therapist, who works with folks across the lifespan. She plays an active, yet supportive, role in the therapy room because she is truly invested in your personal growth, and together you will come up with a game plan to get you there.
It's important to Jules that she makes every session worth your time, and she does this in part by playing an active role in the therapy room and "not being the therapist that just sits there and nods their head." Jules is the kind of therapist that challenges you, but also celebrates every single victory along the way.
She is creative and full of energy, and has a fun and youthful personality--which serves her well in her work with both adults and kids. Her background in education and working with children allows her to provide a unique and well-rounded perspective. With kids and teenagers, she just gets it (and with adults who are struggling with their children, she is able to help them get it!). She loves working with parents (including co-parents) and families to help them gain insight into their family dynamics, learn more effective ways to meet the needs of their kids, and create the atmosphere they are striving for. She approaches therapy with a warm heart and a true dedication to every client she works with.
Clients have told her that her non-judgmental, affirming and personal approach made them feel comfortable quickly. She wants you to view the four walls of her therapy room as your safe place, where you can leave feeling a little lighter than when you walked in. If you're willing to jump in, Jules is ready to jump in with you!
When she's not at Open Space CCW, you may also find her...
