Who I Help

I am passionate about working with folks struggling with anxiety, life transitions,
perfectionism, self-esteem, body image, gender and sexual identity, and other
LGBTQIA+ related concerns. I also enjoy supporting those living with chronic
illness and/or chronic pain, neurodivergent individuals, and anyone struggling with

the effects of trauma.

I am disability inclusive, relationship inclusive (including non-traditional
relationship structures (e.g., poly or ENM) and interabled relationships), and sex
positive (kink-aware). I work with clients across the gender and sexuality
spectrums
, including multisexual clients (bi, pan, omni, etc.), and asexual and

aromantic identities.

I reject size-ism and weight stigma in society and in healthcare -- it’s important to

me that my counseling space is inclusive of all bodies.

I always try to operate from a place of curiosity and non-judgment whenever I
encounter anything I do not yet understand. I do believe the client is the expert on
their own life, and I look forward to learning from you and alongside you. I want to
work with you to help you figure out how to tackle day-to-day challenges and
stressors, but I am equally interested in helping you understand and integrate your
past. Trauma processing, identity exploration—from “How did I become this way?”

to “What do I want out of this life?” I’m here for it all.

What Can you Expect?

I have a calm, easy-going personality that tends to help clients feel more at ease quickly. I try to balance my sensitive and thoughtful approach with occasional challenges -- pointing out discrepancies or suggesting connections, but ultimately leaving it up to you to take it or leave it. I bring in aspects of mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), mindfulness practice, and believe connecting with our bodies is as important as connecting with our minds.

How we talk to ourselves matters. The story we tell ourselves about ourselves matters. These things affect how we feel about ourselves, the decisions we make, and how we interact with others. Developing insight and awareness and insight into ourselves allows us to feel more in control and make decisions that are in alignment with our authentic self. I want to help you get to know that self!

I arrive authentically, without judgment and am open to talking about all things embarrassing or uncomfortable. I hope our work together leads to more self-understanding, more self-kindness and, ultimately, releases the weight of any shame you’ve been carrying around. I can connect with some of those deep-seated feelings that no one really knows you or understands, the sadness, pain, guilt, panic, uncertainty – let’s figure it out, together.

When I'm not at Open Space CCW, you may also find me...

Doing crossword puzzles and watching random documentary TV, especially
anything to do with weather or animals (currently working my way through old
episodes of "How the Earth Was Made.”) I also enjoy taking walks around the city or

in our parks, and spending time with my partner and our families.
